Hot Child Summer in the City

Or not, if you live in Seattle.

But really, when summer actually hits Seattle, the weather is awesome, and on top of that, the music festivals truly validate why most of us want to live here. Here are a few to check out:

May 24-26 | SASQUATCH MUSIC FESTIVAL | Gorge Amphitheater
siiiiiiick line up! I'll be there on Monday to see The Mars Volta, Built to Spill, The Hives, and more!

May 23-26 | NORTHWEST FOLKLIFE | Seattle Center
Tons of artists of not only folk music, but klezmer, polka, you name it. Plus arts and crafts and food!

June 13-14 | GEORGETOWN MUSIC FESTIVAL | Georgetown
Lots of local bands

July 12-13 | SUB POP FESTIVAL | Marymoor Park
Celebrating 20 years of the label's existence, this festival features many past and present Sub Pop artists such as Iron & Wine, Flight of the Conchords, The Gutter Twins, Wolf Parade, Green River, Fleet Foxes, and the list goes on!

July 25-27 | CAPITOL HILL BLOCK PARTY | Capitol Hill, Pike St
Vampire Weekend, Les Savy Fav, Girl Talk, The Hold Steady, plus lots of others!

Aug 30-Sep 1 | BUMBERSHOOT | Seattle Center
The definitive Seattle music festival, this year's line up includes Band of Horses, Beck, Stone Temple Pilots, M. Ward, Del the Funky Homosapien, and more, not to mention literature, visual arts, dance, and comedy!

Now, let's just hope it's not raining on these days!
